Makhana sizing
Choose a size grade.
Suta is a trade size reference for popped makhana. Makhanley’s current range covers 3, 4, 5 and 6+ Suta: 3 Suta is approximately 9–12 mm, 4 Suta 12–15 mm, 5 Suta 15–18 mm and 6+ Suta above 18 mm. Actual size distribution and tolerance should be confirmed for each lot.
3 Suta
3 Suta Extra Small Makhana
9–12 mm
An extra-small grade suited to evaluation for makhana flour and powder, namkeen, sweets, kheer and other traditional preparations.
4 Suta
4 Suta Small Makhana
12–15 mm
A smaller commercial grade commonly suited to snack mixes and trail mixes, with uniform sizing and an economical positioning.
5 Suta
5 Suta Medium Makhana
15–18 mm
A medium grade for roasting and sweet dishes such as makhana kheer, where consistent sizing can be useful.
6+ Suta
6+ Suta Makhana
Above 18 mm
A larger-kernel category for buyers prioritising size and presentation. Confirm each lot’s actual size distribution and tolerance.
